LEXINGTON – Kentucky basketball is unprecedented territory for the Louisville rivalry series during the John Calipari era.
The Wildcats will face Louisville while unranked in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll for the first time in Calipari’s 14 meetings with the Cardinals as Kentucky’s coach. Both teams are unranked at the time of the game for the first time since the 2007-08 season.
Twice previously in the Calipari era, Kentucky has faced Louisville while unranked in the Associated Press top 25 but ranked in the Coaches Poll. The Wildcats have been ranked lower than Louisville in the Coaches Poll just four times in the 13 previous meetings of the Calipari era.
