The Wolverines travel to Rupp Arena on Monday in a situation no team has faced since Rollins in 1993, when Rollins found itself as Kansas’ next opponent on Jan. 30, 1993 after the No. 1-ranked Jayhawks had been upset by Long Beach State.
No true mid-major had defeated a No. 1-ranked team on its home court since, until Walter McCarty’s Evansville beat Kentucky Tuesday.
Kansas responded to its loss to Long Beach State with a 103-56 blowout of Rollins.
