“Grit.” That is the word Eva Hudson used to describe the season for this Kentucky volleyball team. The best of the best ain’t too pretty to be gritty, and that certainly applies to these Cats.
The Wildcats opened the season in front of a packed house at Bridgestone Arena against the No. 1 team in the nation. Kentucky jumped out to a two-set lead. With the eyes of the world watching on ABC, the Huskers clawed back to win in five.
Kentucky could have crumpled under pressure. Instead, they went on the road and showed that they have some grit to ’em.
