LEXINGTON - Kentucky footballs spring recruiting momentum continued Friday with a commitment from four-star Ohio prep cornerback Alex Afari.
Afari picked UK over reported scholarship offers from Michigan State, Cincinnati, Indiana, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Boston College Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, Iowa State, Washington State and a handful of Group of Five conference programs. Rivals rates him as a four-star prospect and the No. 33 cornerback in the high school class of 2022.
The commitment reestablishes a UK recruiting pipeline to Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio. The program has sent five other players to Kentucky during Mark Stoops' tenure, including NFL draft pick George Asafo-Adjei.
