Former Kentucky player Isaac Humphries came out as gay Tuesday in an emotional message to his Australian team, the Melbourne United.
I the message to his coaches and teammates, Humphries detailed his struggles with his sexuality and coming to terms with being gay.
At his low point, Humphries says he even attempted suicide.
With the announcement, Humphries is now considered the only openly gay player in a top-tier men’s basketball league around the world.
