Another Portal ‘Cat has found himself a new home. Marquez Bembry is now a UConn Huskie.
During Wednesday’s National Signing Day, Bembry, who spent the last three seasons in Lexington at outside linebacker, officially signed with the University of Connecticut. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound native of Stone Mountain, GA played in all 12 regular-season games for Kentucky in 2021, totaling nine tackles, one of which was for a loss.
Bembry put his name in the transfer portal back on Dec. 13 and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Bembry, who graduated from UK in May 2021, initially came to Kentucky ahead of the 2019 season as a sophomore.
