Former Australian Football League player Max Duffy to punt for Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky football staff has looked to Australia again to add a punter to its 2018 roster.

Former Australian Rules Football player Max Duffy has joined the Wildcats’ 2018 recruiting class as a punter, according to his academy ProKick Australia. Duffy, who formerly played for Freemantle in the AFL, is ranked as the No. 1 punter in the class of 2018 by ProKicker.com.

Kentucky found success with Australian graduate transfer Matt Panton at punter this season as special teams coordinator Dean Hood, who coached multiple Australian punters during his time as Eastern Kentucky’s head coach, schemed to use Panton’s rugby-style kicking to frequently back opponents up deep in their own territory.
