Willie Cauley-Stein was the only true “veteran” that saw significant playing time for the 38-1 Kentucky squad in 2014-15.Though his numbers didn’t shine on paper, Willie was a highlight reel on both ends of the court during his junior campaign for the Wildcats. He received National Defensive Player of the Year and was honored as a First Team All-American.
High School Standout
Cauley-Stein was ranked as the ninth Center and 40th overall player nationwide coming out of Olathe Northwest high school (Kan.) according to Rivals basketball recruiting in 2012. He chose to attend the University of Kentucky over schools like Florida, Alabama and Kansas State.
