LEXINGTON — Football rivalries are not contained to the field. They often carry over into recruiting.
That was the experience for Kentucky football recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow in the 2020 class, but perhaps not with the UK rival you might expect.
After loading up on the top talent from Louisville in the 2019 class, there was much focus on whether UK or U of L would win the city in 2020 as the Cardinals broke in a new staff. Both programs signed two players from the city, with Louisville flipping wide receiver Jordan Watkins from UK but Kentucky signing the city’s top two prospects in John Young and Izayah Cummings.
