Florida's Kerry Blackshear hasn't matched hype but still could have helped Kentucky

Louisville Courier Journal

LEXINGTON – Kentucky basketball could still use more post depth.

But the emergence of Nick Richards as a Southeastern Conference Player of the Year candidate has lessened the negative impact of John Calipari’s failure to add another big man to his 2019 recruiting class.

Among the most high profile of the 2019 recruiting misses will finally play at Rupp Arena Saturday when Virginia Tech graduate transfer Kerry Blackshear and Florida travel to Lexington.

Richards has outplayed Blackshear this season, but it’s difficult to argue Kentucky would not be better with Blackshear also on the roster.
