Jon Sumrall is reportedly making the move to the SEC — but it won’t be to Lexington.
According to On3’s Chris Low and Pete Nakos, the Florida Gators are expected to hire Sumrall to be the program’s next head football coach. The former Kentucky linebacker/assistant coach is expected to leave his head coaching position at Tulane after posting a 19-7 record across two seasons with the Green Wave. Sumrall was also receiving interest from Auburn and was anticipated to be in the mix if Lane Kiffin ultimately bolts for LSU, but Florida was able to lock him up on Sunday morning.
