LEXINGTON, Ky. – This time Mark Stoops was the mentor.
For new Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher's first appearance in July at the Southeastern Conference's annual media day festivities, he was conveniently scheduled for the same day as Stoops, his former defensive coordinator at Florida State. The two met at the Omni Hotel before either was scheduled to talk to the media.
“There's no doubt he'll do very well at Texas A&M,” Stoops, who worked for Fisher at Florida State for three years, said that day.
