FCS opponents have not always been the pushovers one would expect for Kentucky football during the Mark Stoops era.
Eastern Kentucky took the Wildcats to overtime in 2015. Austin Peay led 13-0 in the second quarter in 2016 before Kentucky responded with 49 unanswered points. EKU trailed by just one point in the fourth quarter in 2017 in what turned out to be an 11-point Kentucky victory.
