Fairfield football poised to be GMC contender again: 'We're coming!'

FAIRFIELD - Minus the top rusher in the Greater Miami Conference and one of the top quarterbacks, the Fairfield High School football team hopes to be right back in the thick of things once play begins.

Gone are nearly 2,000 yards of rushing from JuTahn McClain who is now at Kentucky, plus 1,228 yards of passing and 500 yards of rushing from Sawiaha Ellis, who has since been switched to defensive back at Toledo.

The Indians merely shrug their shoulders at the personnel changes. Upon quick glance on a steaming, July morning, they appear to have able replacements.
