LOS ANGELES — The word “star” was echoed so many times in the tunnels of Staples Center that it almost sounded like a coordinated message on the Clippers behalf. But from all indications, the praise was organic.
In an arena commonly filled with stars both on and off the court, the description Monday night was reserved for 21-year-old Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who spent his rookie season with the Clippers.
Paul George called him a “future star.
