Former Kentucky big man Eloy Vargas has signed with Leones de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
Vargas most recently played for Los Pasisas de Medellin in Colombia. He averaged 7.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game there.
The move to Santo Domingo will be a return to the Dominican Republic’s LNB league, where he previously played a decade for Metros de Santiago. He was waived after the team merged with Cibao FC.
In Santo Domingo, Vargas will be playing for head coach Eulis Baez who was teammates with Vargas on the Dominican Republic National Team.
