Eastern Kentucky University and Jacksonville State University have informed the Ohio Valley Conference that they are leaving the league.
According to the OVC’s statement, EKU informed the league in writing and Jacksonville State verbally informed OVC officials of their plans.
Here is a statement from OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche in regard to OVC membership transition:
“Eastern Kentucky University informed us in writing, and Jacksonville State University has verbally informed us of their intention to leave the Ohio Valley Conference. By its very nature, conference membership is dynamic as institutional priorities and areas of focus change.
