In hindsight, I’m beginning to wonder if missing on Zion Williamson was the best thing that could have ever happened to Kentucky basketball recruiting.
It sounds preposterous. Give me a minute to explain.
Before we get to that though, let’s get to the big news that came on Thursday night, when five-star point guard Devin Askew committed to Kentucky. While technically part of the 2021 class, everything I’ve heard indicates to me that he will ultimately end up in Lexington next season as a part of the class of 2020.
And assuming he is a part of the class of 2020, he puts a cherry on top of what has been a wild recruiting run for Kentucky over the last few months.
