Could Louisville once again be a potential landing spot for the Grizzlies?

Almost 20 years after the city of Louisville was the runner-up in the Grizzlies sweepstakes, the NBA team could be looking for a new home once again.

According to Robert Tillery, a Grizzlies beat writer for the last 17 seasons, Grizzlies owner Robert Pena inquired about relocating his team last August.

It’s not Earth-shattering news, but it could potentially be the start of something huge for the state of Kentucky.

Las Vegas, Seattle and Louisville are the top three candidates for the NBA’s next franchise, whether through expansion or relocation. The gambling angle makes Vegas appealing, Seattle had previous NBA success and Louisville has the largest college basketball television market in America.
