LEXINGTON - The name of Kentucky basketball’s home arena is not changing, but the facility surrounding it is.

A $300 million renovation is currently underway at the building previously known as the Lexington Convention Center surrounding Rupp Arena. As part of that project, the University of Kentucky and Lexington Center Corporation negotiated the ability for UK’s multimedia marketing rights partner JMI to sell corporate naming rights to the facility.
Per the terms of the Rupp Arena lease agreement signed by UK with the Lexington Center Corporation in February 2018, the two parties agreed not to change Rupp Arena’s name but did open the door to sell corporate naming rights for the convention center.
