There’s a recommended college football rule change that appears to be directly linked to Lynn Bowden.
No, this rule change not does not deter wide receivers from playing quarterback. This proposed change appears to stem from what happened on the field prior to the Belk Bowl.

There were no repercussions from the shot Bowden landed on the Virginia Tech Hokie prior to kickoff. The punch landed so early that officials could not enforce a penalty for his actions.
