Chris Rodriguez racks up weekly honors

Kentucky Wildcats running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. has been named the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.

In addition, the College Football Performance Awards named Rodriguez an honorable mention National Performer of the Week, while On3 named him the SEC Player of the Week.

After two weeks, here’s a look at what the junior back out of Georgia has accomplished thus far.

  • Had 27 rushes for 206 yards – both career highs – and also had two rushing touchdowns in Kentucky’s win over Missouri.
  • Caught a five-yard touchdown pass, finishing the game with three total scores
  • Became the eighth player in school history to rush for at least 200 yards in a game, and it’s the most ever for a Wildcat in an SEC opener
  • Two weeks into the season, he leads the SEC and ranks second nationally in rushing with 165.
