After a summer of buzz and overwhelming optimism surrounding the Kentucky basketball roster heading into the 2020-21 season, head coach John Calipari threw all the sunshine and rainbows out the window during his first pre-game press conference last week when he said he had “both feet and hands on the panic button.”
In fact, the UK head coach said the Wildcats could start the season 0-6 if they play the way they did in the final tune-up intrasquad scrimmage the weekend leading up to the team’s season-opener against Morehead State.
“It was our worst scrimmage since I’ve been the coach here,” Calipari said at the time.
