Calipari says he feels “good” about Brooks returning by SEC play: “He wants to play in the worst way”

A return for Keion Brooks Jr. may not be imminent, but it is on the horizon.

Sitting out since early October with a calf injury, UK head coach John Calipari says he feels “good” the sophomore will be back by the time conference play begins in two weeks when the Wildcats take on the South Carolina Gamecocks at home on Dec. 29.

“You know, I feel good about it,” Calipari said during his weekly call-in show Monday evening. “He’s not in contact stuff right now. We’ve got to do what the doctors are saying. They’re saying they want to be slow with it, and I’m fine (with that).
