Calipari on Askew’s struggles: “He didn’t play great but I believe in him”

After weeks of improved play and solidifying his status as the team’s starting point guard, Kentucky freshman Devin Askew took a step back in the team’s 63-62 loss at Georgia Wednesday evening.

Finishing with just three points on 0-6 shooting to go with five turnovers, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 29 minutes, Askew simply didn’t provide the offensive spark UK head coach John Calipari was looking for out of his starting unit. In fact, outside of Brandon Boston Jr., all of the team’s guards struggled in Athens.
