Kentucky defensive coordinator Brad White is entering his eighth season with the Wildcats and seventh as the program’s defensive boss. This preseason, he’s trying to bring a mix of motivation and urgency to a unit that’s undergone major turnover.
Part of that motivation came in the form of a unique preseason tactic — blasting a video of country-rap star Jelly Roll’s speech to the Tennessee Titans in the locker room. The message? Consistency in all areas of life is the key to success on the field.
White said the speech resonated because it applied to football just as much as music.
