INDIANAPOLIS – Down by 30 points playing man-to-man defense, Kentucky coach John Calipari switched to a zone as a means of breaking the monotony.
Duke promptly solved it with three three-point baskets in the space of 83 seconds.
Later in the most lopsided loss of his career, Calipari considered the score and the clock and told his players that anyone who prolonged the agony by fouling would watch the balance of the game from the bench.
