Things have gone south fast in Chapel Hill. When Bill Belichick, one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time, decided to make the jump to college football, it was supposed to be a bold experiment. Instead, it’s turned into a full-blown nightmare of epic proportions that could have ripple effects all the way to Lexington.
A legendary name, a legendary mess
Belichick’s tenure at North Carolina has been a train wreck through five games. The Tar Heels are just 2–3, with wins over Richmond and Charlotte, and that’s where the good news ends. Against real competition, UNC has been embarrassed:
- TCU 48, UNC 14
- UCF 34, UNC 9
- Clemson 38, UNC 10
Against quality teams, they haven’t even been competitive.
