Big 12 powerhouses Oklahoma and Texas reportedly hoping to join Southeastern Conference

Big 12 powerhouse schools Oklahoma and Texas are reportedly planning to petition the Southeastern Conference for membership.

According to multiple reports, Oklahoma and Texas hope to join the SEC to former a super conference of 16 universities.

Tonight, reports indicate that the schools will set their plans into motion early next week:

Early next week, the @TexasLonghorns and @UofOklahoma will send a letter to the @Big12Conference stating that neither school will renew their media contracts when they expire in 2025.
