Benny Snell played with a high fever and viral infection

As first reported by Drew Franklin of Kentucky Sports Radio hours prior to the game, Benny Snell was battling an illness on Saturday. Snell missed the pregame meal with his team and there were slight concerns that he may not be able to go at game time.

The Cats’ star running back did go, though, and played a very good game. He finished with 125 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries to lead his team on the ground in the win.

Afterward, Mark Stoops said, “He had a virus last night. He had a temperature and a viral infection.
