Auburn hiring former Kentucky assistant Jimmy Brumbaugh

A former Kentucky assistant has a new home in the SEC…or rather, is returning to an old home. Auburn Live is reporting that Jimmy Brumbaugh will join Bryan Harsin’s staff as the Tigers’ new defensive line coach. Brumbaugh held the same position at Kentucky from 2013-16. He was a defensive lineman for Auburn from 1995-99.

Brumbaugh left Kentucky after the 2016 season to be the co-defensive coordinator/defensive line coach at Maryland. He was with the Terrapins for two seasons. In 2019, he took the same position on Mel Tucker’s staff at Colorado. He most recently worked for Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee, joining the Volunteers’ staff in February 2020 as co-defensive coordinator/defensive line coach alongside fellow former UK staffer Derrick Ansley.
