Andy Kennedy to become UAB’s next head coach

Tom Hart is looking for a new wingman on the SEC Network.

Evan Daniels reports former Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy has agreed to a six-year deal to become UAB’s next head coach. Kennedy will replace Rob Ehsan, who was fired last Friday after the Blazers finished the 2020 season .500 in Conference-USA with a 19-13 overall record.

Kennedy’s basketball career actually started at UAB. Between 1987-90 he scored 1,787 points, the second-most in school history, and in his final season led the Sun Belt in scoring with 21.8 points per game.

Over the last two years you saw Kennedy on the SEC Network.
