Abby Steiner finishes fifth in 200-meter sprint at World Track and Field Championships

Kentucky product Abby Steiner got a chance to compete on the biggest stage in the world on Thursday night. The sprinter more than held her own.

In the final of the 200-meter dash at the World Track and Field Championships, the Dublin (Ohio) Coffman alum finished fifth with a run of 22.26 seconds out in Eugene, Oregon.

Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson set a record with a 21.46 time to earn a gold medal in the event. The world-class sprinter was the heavy favorite in the event.

The performance for Steiner was a step back after the sprinter logged 22.
