A Win over Vanderbilt isn’t the Sure Thing it Used to Be

“There are only two things certain in life: death and taxes.”

I didn’t know that phrase as a kid. The one certainty in my life as a young Kentucky football fan was beating Vandy. No matter how bad the Cats were, if you could survive the late November elements for a Vanderbilt game, you were at least rewarded with a win.

That hasn’t been the case in recent years.

During James Franklin’s tenure the Cats consistently got crushed. Last year’s win over Vandy was the first win over the Commodores since 2010.
