Kentucky had one job and one job only against Bellarmine: win. Coming off back-to-back victories vs. Indiana and St. John’s, the Wildcats just needed to handle business against the Knights to get to Christmas break ahead of the start of SEC play in January.
It wasn’t pretty, but the mission was, in fact, accomplished, finishing with a 99-85 victory to move to 9-4 on the season and put a bow on the non-conference schedule.
KSR has five quick takeaways from Rupp Arena.
Another slow start for the Cats
It was a good Rupp Arena crowd with alums and family filling the stands for the holiday matchup, but fans got a little too uncomfortable for their liking early with the game tied 19-19 with 10:20 to go in the first half and it still being just a one-score game with 1:11 to go before intermission until back-to-back buckets for the Cats put them up eight at the break.
