NASHVILLE — The remainder of the 2020 SEC Basketball Tournament in Nashville has been canceled in response to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus, the league office announced Thursday.
Kentucky remains the only 2020 SEC champion, as it won the regular-season title, and will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said the conference's teams will be permitted to play in the NCAA Tournament. But he added that the "NCAA is digging deeply into these issues ... and our national office has some work to do on those.
