Xavier Pollard’s insertion into starting lineup leading Kent State into game against Ball State

Kent State wasn’t beginning games fast enough, so the weapon on the bench needed to become the weapon in the starting lineup.

Up until recently, Xavier Pollard was acting as the Golden Flashes’ sixth man, but one who played about as many minutes as anyone on the roster. His brand of possession dominance and scoring ability was a needed punch off the bench, one that few teams in the MAC can match.

Coach Rob Senderoff has repeatedly said Pollard was without question one of KSU’s top five players, just as Kris Brewer, last season’s Mid-American Conference Sixth Man of the Year, was.
