The Golden Flashes are off to the best start (7-1) since 2008-09 following a 71-66 win over Duquesne on Wednesday. Katie Shumate matched her season-high with 21 points to lead Kent State. Casey Santoro shot 4-of-5 from behind the three-point arc and finished with 19 points to match her career-high. Santoro also grabbed a career-high eight boards and had three assists to share the team lead. Lindsey Thall added 16 points and game-high nine rebounds.
