Women's basketball forced to pause operations for a second time

Kent State’s women’s basketball team announced it would be pausing all team related activities due to COVID-19 protocols Tuesday.

This is the second time the team has entered a pause with the first one occurring just before the start of the season at the beginning of December. NCAA COVID-19 pauses usually between seven and 14 days.

Flashes head coach Todd Starkey tested positive for COVID-19 last week which resulted in the postponement of the team’s game against Northern Illinois on Jan. 6. Kent State also had to tap Fran Recchia to take the helm for its game against Ball State on Jan.
