Sophomore forward Jordan Korinek shoots a layup in the game against Northern Illinois University on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2015. The Flashes won 95-85.
The loss gives the Flashes their 10th straight loss on the road.
It was a tale of two halves in the game. During the first half, which featured a lot of plays spectators have become accustomed to seeing from Kent State's team, the Flashes scored 47 points. They proceed to outscore the Zips in the paint 18-2 and kept Akron’s leading scorer, junior guard Anita Brown, to just free throws.
A big part of the Flashes' 11-point lead at the half was due in part to sophomore forward Jordan Korinek, who finished the first half with 11 points.
