KENT: The rainy, windy and wet conditions were a blessing in disguise for the Kent State football team Tuesday night.
Kent State hosting No. 17 Western Michigan, gave the top team in the Mid-American Conference all it could handle but the Broncos were too much in the end, coming away with a 37-21 win at Dix Stadium.
In a consistent downpour through most of the night, each team battled slippery field conditions, taking the usual game plans to something more conservative.
But for Kent State (3-7, 2-4 MAC), slowing down WMU’s offense was the biggest key.
