CLEVELAND – Kent State volleyball sophomore Mackenzie McGuire has been named Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Scholar-Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).
McGuire averaged 5.11 kills per set to lead the Golden Flashes in a pair of matches to conclude non-conference action last week.
