Volleyball Completes Weekend Sweep at Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio — For the second day in a row, Kent State recorded a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22) over Toledo in a Mid-American Conference volleyball contest on Sunday.

The Golden Flashes (8-1) held the Rockets to a season-low .074 hitting percentage and totaled 10 blocks, their most in a three-setter this season. Juniors Lana Strejcek and Danie Tyson led the defensive effort at the net with four total blocks each, while junior Erin Gardner anchored the floor defense with 17 digs.

Sophomore Savannah Matthews finished 16 digs and a match-high 17 kills.
