KENT, Ohio – You can't pitch much better than Eric Lauer did Friday afternoon. The junior two-hit Toledo (6-24-1, 2-5) in his second career complete game while striking out ten and not giving away one free base, leading the way for Kent State (21-9, 5-2) to take game one against the Rockets 3-0.
The two hits given up, a single to left field in the 2nd and first-pitch double to left in the 5th, were the only base runners that Toledo would have in the game. Lauer needed just 106 pitches in the effort with an impressive 75 of them being strikes.
