CLEVELAND, Ohio — For the second time this season, Kent State volleyball student-athletes Alex Haffner and Savannah Matthews both earned Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week honors. Haffner was named Setter of the Week for the third time and Matthews was named Offensive Player of the Week for the second time.
The duo helped lead the Golden Flashes (8-1) to a 2-1 week, including a pair of 3-0 wins at Toledo on Saturday and Sunday.
Haffner, a redshirt junior, averaged 11.27 assists and 2.91 digs per set. She totaled 40 assists in helping the Kent State post a season-best .
