CLEVELAND, Ohio –Kent State sophomore Michael Turner was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Turner was an offensive juggernaut for the Golden Flashes, batting at a .462 clip with a .769 slugging percentage. He tallied eight RBIs and six hits through a three-game series at Bowling Green.
Down 8-6 in the seventh inning of the series opener at Stellar Field, Turner came up in a clutch situation with bases loaded. He belted his second grand slam of the season to propel Kent State to its 13th conference win.
