CLEVELAND - Kent State freshman placekicker Matthew Trickett (Cleveland, Ohio) was named Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday. Saturday against Ohio, Trickett became the first Golden Flashes' kicker to go 4-for-4 on field goal attempts in a game since 2014.
"He expects to win and knows what it takes to win," Head Coach Sean Lewis said of Trickett. "He's had that approach since he showed up on day one. He's as even-keeled as anyone I've seen. I'm glad we kept a local kid home.
