CARROLTON, Texas- Freshman Johnny Travale tied for 14th place to lead the Kent State Golden Flashes men's golf team to a tie for 10th at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Marido Golf Club (par 70/7,008 yards) in Carrolton, Texas.
Travale fired a 217 to finish in a tie for 14th at 7-over par. The freshman opened up the 54-hole event with a 72, followed by an even-par score in his second round. His second round was a team-best, highlighted by three birdies after shooting 15 holes for par or less.
