Track and Field Earns Dual Sweep of Rival Zips

AKRON, Ohio – The Kent State track and field program posted a 2-0 record in a dual meet against rival Akron on Friday evening at Stile Athletics Field House.

The women's team earned victories in 10 of 14 events for a dominant 93-56 final score. The men's team split the 14 events and clinched the 76-73 win with an exciting finish in the 4x400 meter relay.

Matilde Carboncini led the way with 10 points by winning the women's 60-meter hurdles and long jump. Carboncini ran a time of 8.83 seconds in the hurdles and recorded a mark of 17'-9.
