AKRON, Ohio – Kent State's Sam Tollerud broke the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 4.22m (13' 10") en route to a first place finish at the Campbell-Wright Open on Saturday, May 6.
Tollerud, a sophomore broke the previous record of 13' 9.25" set in 2005 by Jackie Rogers and is currently tied for the 23rd best mark in the nation.
Caroline Sauers secured the first of six victories on the day for the Golden Flashes, taking the 1,500m run title with a time of 4:39.
